Tyson Davis


Tyson Davis was sworn-in as the Chief of Police for the City of Delano, on Oct 25, 2021. Chief Davis’ experience includes 31 years of service with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office where he worked a variety of assignments. Some of his recent experience includes management roles over Metropolitan Patrol, K-9 Unit, Robbery-Homicide Investigations, Sexual Assault Investigations, Property Crime/Theft Investigations, Rural Crime Investigations, Gang Investigations, Narcotics Investigations, SWAT Team, Bomb Squad, Crisis Negotiation, Air Support Unit, Search & Rescue Unit, Reserve Volunteer Unit, Citizen Service Units, and the Dispatch Unit.

Chief Davis is a life-long resident of Kern County. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, as well as a Master of Science degree in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach. Chief Davis is a graduate of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Leadership of Police Organizations (Class #10), as well as an F.B.I. National Academy graduate (Class #259) and holds a host of P.O.S.T. certifications available in the State of California.

Chief Davis is committed to maintaining a professional workforce dedicated to the enhancement of quality of life through community partnership with an overall goal of reducing crime, minimizing fear, preserving peace, and improving traffic safety for the Delano community.
